Hi Y’all, Just wondering how you’re doing with exercise — none, moderation, addiction or resistance. If you are into exercising, it’s important to get enough calories, protein, carbohydrate and fat throughout the day so you’ll have enough energy for your workout. For me I’ve GOT to eat before and after my morning workout, which is Weights and Swim or LifeCycle, with some stretching. This usually takes me an hour to an hour and a half and I feel so good during and afterwards. There was a time many years ago when I didn’t eat first and I just had NO energy; consequently I didn’t increase my metabolism or endurance because I was starving. Now I know better. If you have an afternoon workout and haven’t eaten for 3-4 hours, you would probably benefit from having a 100-150 calorie snack beforehand so you’ll perform well. Learn to listen to your body throughout the day so you’ll better know how to respond when you need fuel. Take care, Alice

Hi all, I’ve been hearing from many of you asking about the importance of nutrition in binge eating treatment. A good breakfast is definitely a huge success factor. What works to prevent me from starving all day and overeating later is to have a good quick breakfast combination of protein, fruit fiber and a little fat, for example a Blueberry Protein Shake with Rice Dream, about 20 grams of protein, and 6-12 almonds to crunch on. A couple of weeks ago I didn’t eat enough for my increased exercise and really fell into a mood pit. I’m writing a new book with lots more ideas to be out in October. It’s called EAT UP THE GOOD LIFE! Savvy Skills for Pleasurable, Guilt-Free Eating & Living. I would also like your ideas on what you would like to see included in it. What do you do to stop starving or bingeing? Alice
